Walking into your first Krav Maga class can feel a little daunting, especially if you’ve never trained before. Knowing what to expect in advance can help take away some of that uncertainty.
A Warm Welcome
You’ll be greeted by Russell and introduced to the group before the session begins. There’s no assumption that you’ll know anything already, and it’s completely normal to be new — most students started exactly where you are.
A Structured Warm-Up
Every class begins with a warm-up to prepare your body for training. This is a gentle introduction to the pace of the session and a good opportunity to get comfortable with the environment before anything more technical begins.
Clear, Step-by-Step Coaching
Techniques are broken down into simple, manageable steps, with clear coaching throughout. You won’t be expected to get everything right straight away — the focus is on understanding, not perfection, especially in your first few sessions.
Practising with a Partner
Much of the class involves practising with a partner in a supportive, controlled way. This might feel unfamiliar at first, but it’s a normal part of how Krav Maga is taught, and everyone in the room has been through it themselves.
No Pressure, No Judgement
Classes are beginner-friendly by design. Nobody expects you to be fit, flexible or experienced on your first visit — you’re there to learn, at your own pace, in a supportive environment.
After Your First Class
By the end of your first session, you’ll have a clearer sense of how training works and whether it’s right for you, with no obligation to commit beyond trying it out.
